Rosalind Morris
Well, I know it's been a few weeks since I've posted anything, but you all know how life happens sometimes. Not to say that life 'gets in the way' as some people say, but sometimes, it just happens to slip into the way we'd like to get things done. LOL. But, finally I can get back to the daily grind and get back to posting some of your favorite interviews.
I have a whole new batch of independent and traditionally published authors who have agreed to be interviewed by me. So, stay tuned because every Friday there will be a new one for you to get to know.
The first author that I had the privilege to interview is an Indie author like myself and a writer of Christian fiction, which is one of my favorite genres to read. Keep reading to find out what this bright, young author had to say to my questions.
AJ: Tell us a little about yourself and your background that led you to become a writer.
RM: I started writing soon after I learned how to read, which was around four years old. I would write with my mother, when I was bored. I have always had a great love for good stories and a vivid imagination.
AJ: How many books have you written and in what genre would you classify your works?
RM: I wrote the first draft of my first published book, Drawkcab Brown Stops a Bully, in high school. It was a children’s book. I finished the first draft of my newly published first novel, The Wages or the Gift, in 2002. Over the years, I revised it and updated it until it was ready for release just last December. Currently, I am having beta readers read the first draft of my next release. My novels are all Christian Fiction. The Wages or the Gift is a Christian Suspense novel, and my upcoming novel will be a Supernatural Thriller.
AJ: What is the most challenging thing you’ve found in being a writer?
RM: I am still feeling my way through marketing, so that’s been a challenge. I just made a great plan with my publicist, so I am hoping that helps.
AJ: Do you have any tips on how to get through the dreaded writer’s block?
RM: If you are a Christian, prayer helps tremendously. Also, write despite the block. If nothing comes to mind just write strings of consciousness until you find yourself writing again
AJ: What social media outlets have you used to reach your readers? And, which ones have you found to be the most successful?
RM: I use them all. Goodreads, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and Linked In. And, which ones have you found to be the most successful? Probably Facebook.
AJ: How can readers discover more about you?
RM: Glad you asked! Reader can find me on any of these...
