Alexa Verde

You all know how passionate I am about Christian romance, and how passionate I am about these author interviews. Luckily, I get to do my 60th interview with a fellow Christian romance writer! YAY ME!

According to her Amazon author page, Alexa Verde writes sweet, wholesome books about faith, love, and murder. She penned her first literary masterpiece, a rhymed poem, at the ripe age of eight, and since has had 200 short stories, articles, and poems published in the five languages that she speaks. (WOW! What an accomplishment!) She has bachelor's degrees in English and Spanish, a master's in Russian, and enjoys writing about characters with diverse cultures. Read her interview to find out more about this inspiring, multi-talented author.

AJ: Tell us a little about yourself and your background that led you to become a writer.

AV: I loved reading and writing for almost as long as I can remember myself. I penned my first poem when I was eight, and by the age of nine I knew I was going to write a book. My first job was a reporter. I'd have done that job for free, but thankfully, my boss didn't know that. Since then, I worked different jobs and traveled to many countries, but eventually came back to writing. It was always in my heart.

AJ: How many books have you written? In what genre would you classify your works?

AV: I published thirteen books to date, and I wrote many more. However, the books I wrote over a decade ago will never see the light of day, and readers probably would thank me for that. As for the genre, Christian romantic suspense was my first love, and my tagline used to be "Sweet, wholesome books about faith, love, and murder. " But I started reading contemporary Christian romance and enjoyed it so much that I now write in that genre, too.

AJ: What is your goal, or mission, as a writer?

AV: My mission is to bring readers closer to God and to give them joy. I'm told that my books are inspirational, heartfelt, and sweet, without being preachy, and that makes me happy and grateful. I hope with all my heart that my books can bless my readers.

AJ: What inspired you to write your first book?

AV: My first book was a YA. I couldn't find enough books to read with courageous, smart young girls as heroines, so I decided to write one.

AJ: How can readers discover more about you?

AV: I'm so glad you asked! I love connecting with readers. The best gift for my birthday was readers emailing me and wishing me Happy Birthday, and I love giving back to them by offering free and discounted books and giveaways as often as I can!
